Fariba Adelkhah

My research experience as an anthropologist, which coincided with the Iranian Revolution in 1979, has centered around religious practices and their interaction with social transformations. I focused on the second half of the 20th century as a historical period. My case study deals with women, borders, migration, and travel. I even dared to coin a new field of research, Anthropology of Travel, which took me to Afghanistan once, but fate did not give me the luck to finalize it, not yet…
